Apr. 1, 2015 – PLANO, Texas — Goliath is pleased to announce the acquisition of Modelco, a leading developer, manufacturer, and distributor of innovative radio-control products. Headquartered in France, Modelco is known for top-quality, affordable R/C products, including drones, quadcopters, boats, vehicles, and helicopters, and for innovative products like its Sky Roller and Fly Balls. Goliath’s first radio-control product, the Flying Dragon, quickly topped 100,000 units in sales and won the Gran Prix de Jouet in 2014, its first year in the market. “With the success of our Flying Dragon, the acquisition of Modelco expands our reach into an important toy category,” said Adi Golad, founder of Goliath. “The combination of Modelco’s know-how and Goliath’s product development, production, marketing, and distribution strength means we can expand Modelco’s business on a global scale.”
Goliath was founded in 1980 and has become one of the world’s fastest-growing large independent toy companies. After the 2014 acquisitions of Pressman in the US and Crown & Andrews in Australia, the company continues to transform into one of the most influential global toy and game manufacturers.
